Not only focusing on Hanoi and the North of Vietnam, since 2018 – 2019 academic year, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) wants to attract students in the South West and the South of Vietnam.
On March 18th, 2018, USTH attended the Recruitment Day in Can Tho, which was organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper – one of the most prestigious media in Vietnam.
This was one of 17 programs that Tuoi Tre Newspaper is organizing throughout Vietnam in the first quarter of the year to provide students, parents and teachers information about job orientation, training programs, and career opportunities to select appropriate universities and majors.
In the event in Can Tho, there were 79 educational institutes with over 130 consulting booths.
This is the first time that USTH participated in the Recruitment Day in Can Tho. However, many students and their parents paid attention to USTH’s consulting booth. They came not only from Can Tho but also from many cities and provinces in the South West of Vietnam.
USTH’s officials spent lots of time to answer the questions about the USTH’s training programs such as Pharmacological, Medical and Agronomical Biotechnology (PMAB), and Food Science.
Besides, the visitors are also interested in the three-year training programs in English of the USTH, the combination of theories and practices in the programs, as well as internship opportunities and scholarship policies.
Moreover, USTH prioritizes the students in the South West of Vietnam to have online interview due to the geographical distance, they can’t attend the direct interview with the USTH’s council.
On the sidelines of the Recruitment Day, USTH also visited some high schools in the cities such as Ly Tu Trong, Nguyen Viet Hong, Chau Van Liem and Nguyen Viet Dung to introduce USTH with the high schools.
Additionally, the visits are expected to set up a good relationship between USTH with high schools in Can Tho in particular and in the South West in general to attract talented students who love science and technology.
Currently, USTH is in early admission prior to the National High School graduation exam, which is providing 12 training programs in science and technology. The third intake is from May 2nd, 2018 to May 16th, 2018. The students in remote areas can send their bachelor applications via post office or via email of the university.
