University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) participated Fête de la Francophonie organised by Chu Van An High School to strengthen collaboration with high schools in Hanoi.
Attending this event was part of a series of USTH to celebrate the International Francophonie Day on March 20th. USTH attended such kind of event by Hanoi University with various art performances.
This year, the Chu Van An High School’s Fête de la Francophonie was attended by other high schools such as Hanoi-Amsterdam Gifted High School, Nguyen Truong To Secondary School, Nam Thanh Cong Primary School and Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School. Main activities included discovering French cuisine and culture at booths of participating schools; awarding merits to outstanding students of French classes and art performances.
Many students and parents visited USTH booth to gather information about the university, play exciting games and quizzes about France, La Francophonie and USTH.
Tightening relations with high schools in Hanoi is one of priorities of USTH. Therefore, USTH frequently participates in cultural and exchange events with other school in the city, said Prof. Patrick Boiron – Rector of USTH – guest of honour of the event.
With French as the second foreign language, USTH, which was established under the intergovernmental agreement between Vietnam and France, and a range of universities and institutes who are USTH supporters are frequently engaged in numerous activities to promote the beauty of French language and culture, Prof. Patrick Boiron added.
It is also an opportunity for the USTH to approach more closely to high school students who love the French language and science and technology, said the principal.
USTH has been paying efforts to build up a university that focuses on scientific knowledge and culture and soft skills development which is highlighted in the university’s curriculum.
