On September 16, 2020, on behalf of the government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister signed the resolution 132/NQ-CP to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France on the development of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) for the next 5 years and its implementation plan.
On November 2, 2018, at the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, the Intergovernmental Agreement on the development of USTH for the next 5 years was signed by Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador in Vietnam and Prof. Acad Chau Van Minh, President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the governing body of the university.
According to the Intergovernmental Agreement, the two governments show determination and commitment to develop USTH to become an excellent university with international standards in training and research, especially to be one of the top universities in South East Asia.
With the resolution 132/NQ-CP signed by the Prime Minister, the Agreement now will officially come into effect
USTH was established under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France signed in 2009 and has become the symbol for the strong commitment of the two governments and has been one of the most important and meaningful results of the tremendous efforts of the two nations in developing training and research in Vietnam.
