1. INTRODUCTION
Mathematics nowadays plays as an essential tool for scientists and engineers. Research areas like weather forecasting, searching engines and cybersecurity require a great deal of mathematical necessity. Mathematics is becoming the key of developments, even in economics fields or the social sciences. Mathematics helps businesses to provide both quantitative and qualitative instruments for organizing and analyzing blocks of big data.
The explosion of start-up in data sciences, blockchain, fintech, etc… that requires massive amount of data processing, imposes a high demand on human resources. Therefore, this is a promising change for students with a solid knowledge base and able to manipulate math skills in the practical problems of these industries.
USTH’s Bachelor of Applied Mathematics program is designed for students interested in applying mathematics in these important fields outlined. The program will provide students with a strong and modern mathematical knowledge, as well as the algorithms and necessary skills for various technical and economic disciplines.
This program provides compulsory subjects and electives, giving students a wide range of career choices upon graduation. The course is covered entirely in English to ensure that graduates will be proficient in English in future work.
2. PROGRAM
The Applied Mathematics Program lasts for 3 years with 180 credits.
- Foundation year: provide fundamental scientific and technology knowledge (60 credits)
- Second and third years: equipping with specialized knowledge and skills.
