On May 19, 2026, students from the Cyber Security program at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) participated in a field trip to FPT Telecom as part of the University’s career orientation activities. This visit organized by the University aims to give students early exposure to corporate environments, thereby maximizing their job prospects upon graduation.
Understanding the Market and Career Orientation in Cyber Security
During the program, students engaged in an insightful sharing session with Mr. Pham Trung Anh – Head of Cyber Security Advisory Services and Solutions Department at FPT Telecom.
Drawing from his extensive field experience, Mr. Trung Anh provided a close-up look into:
- The vital role of information security in the digital age.
- Growth trends and demands of the cyber security workforce market in Vietnam.
- Financial opportunities and challenges in the industry leading up to 2030.
This valuable insider knowledge helps students evaluate their own capabilities, understand career prospects, and proactively set academic goals to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills for the future.

Solving real-world cyber security problems and experiencing a professional workspace
The visit offered highly interactive and valuable experiences for USTH students through two main activities:
1. Role-playing as Cyber security experts
Students directly participated in real-world simulation scenarios. Role-playing as actual cyber security experts at FPT, they analyzed, discussed, and solved practical problems concerning security vulnerabilities and system incident responses. With their proactive spirit, creative thinking, and solid academic foundation, USTH students left a strong positive impression during the case-study discussions.

2. Exploring the Modern Workspace at FPT Tower
In addition, the students toured the state-of-the-art workspace at FPT Tower. Witnessing a dynamic and professional environment at a leading tech corporation gave them a clearer vision of their future career paths and injected strong motivation into their ongoing academic journey.

Expanding internship and employment opportunities for students
A key highlight of the visit was the recruitment networking session. Representatives from FPT Telecom introduced various attractive internship and job openings tailored for USTH Information Technology and Cyber Security students in the near future. This served as an excellent gateway for students to directly connect with employers and secure suitable internships to gain practical experience.

Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration in Workforce Training
This field trip not only bridged the gap between theory and practice for students but also tightened the partnership between the University and Enterprises. Collaborating with prestigious organizations like FPT Telecom enables the University to continuously enhance its training quality, aiming to supply a high-quality workforce that aligns perfectly with market demands in technology and cyber security.
The field trip to FPT Telecom provided both practical experience and powerful inspiration for USTH’s Cyber Security students. These practical enterprise-connect activities are crucial steps in preparing students to confidently seize opportunities, proactively refine their skills, and stand ready to join the cyber security labor market immediately after graduation.
