On 14 November, French students studying at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) participated in the “Petit-déjeuner à l’Ambassade de France” (Breakfast at the French Embassy), an event organized by the French Embassy in Vietnam to foster connections within the French student community and strengthen France–Vietnam educational and cultural ties.
Representing the French Embassy were Mr. Eric Soulier, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs and Director of the French Institute in Hanoi, Ms. Marine Bruder, Officer for Innovation and Higher Education, together with representatives of the French Institute.
Held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the event offered students a familiar taste of home. Over tea, coffee, and freshly baked croissants, participants gathered to reconnect with French culture while meeting fellow French students currently studying at universities across Hanoi.
The breakfast also provided an opportunity for USTH students to exchange experiences about academic life, cultural adaptation, and living abroad. Through conversations and networking activities, participants built new connections and strengthened their sense of community during their time in Vietnam.

Participants also learned more about the wide range of initiatives led by the French Embassy in Vietnam. Among them was the talk featuring the first French woman to travel to space, which was successfully hosted at USTH last September. Students were also introduced to a variety of Francophone activities and resources, including French language courses, multimedia library services, concerts, and film screenings.
More than just a networking event, the breakfast gathering gave students valuable insights into the contributions of the French community in Vietnam in promoting educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The event also highlighted the French Embassy’s continued support for young people, who play a key role in strengthening and promoting France–Vietnam cooperation in the fields of culture, education, and science.
