As part of USTH Sports Day 2025 and a series of activities welcoming the 16th cohort of incoming students, the USTH Football Champions League 2025 successfully concluded after nearly one month of competition, bringing together students, faculty members, and international students in a vibrant celebration of teamwork and sportsmanship
Held from October 12 to November 9, 2025, the tournament provided an opportunity for members of the USTH community to connect beyond the classroom and strengthen their sense of belonging through sports.
Representing different academic departments, teams competed across three group-stage rounds, followed by the semi-finals and final matches. Throughout the tournament, participants demonstrated determination, resilience, and mutual respect while showcasing their passion for football.
One of the unique features of this year’s competition was the active involvement of both lecturers and international students. Each team included at least two lecturers alongside students, while international students from different countries also joined the tournament, reflecting USTH’s diverse and multicultural environment.
The event not only fostered stronger connections between lecturers and students but also provided an excellent opportunity for first-year students to meet their peers, build new friendships, and integrate more quickly into the USTH community.
Beyond the matches themselves, enthusiastic supporters contributed to a lively atmosphere throughout the tournament. Their encouragement and energy played an important role in motivating players and creating memorable experiences for all participants.
The winning teams were recognised for their outstanding performances:
🥇 Champion: Department of Technology and Engineering (DTE)
🥈 Runner-up: Department of Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (AMSN)
🥉 Third Place: Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
The tournament officially opened on October 12, 2025, and took place at Xuan Dinh High School Football Field, featuring three group-stage rounds, followed by the semi-finals on November 2 and the third-place match and final on November 9.
More than a sporting competition, the Football Champions League highlighted the important role of extracurricular activities in enriching student life and fostering an inclusive and dynamic campus environment.
