The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) has officially received a 4-Star “Very Good” rating from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in the QS Stars 2026 assessment. USTH achieved the highest 5-Star rating in three key areas: Teaching, Employability, and Global Engagement.
5 Stars for Teaching
In the Teaching category, QS recognized the high quality of USTH’s academic staff, with 84% of full-time faculty holding a PhD or higher. Many have pursued advanced training and research in France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and other countries with strong science and technology ecosystems. The University also received high levels of satisfaction from students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates regarding the quality of teaching, as well as the learning and research environment.
QS also highlighted the strong proportion of USTH students who go on to pursue further degrees in Vietnam and abroad. The University continues to invest in and upgrade its digital infrastructure and management systems, including its LMS and ERP platforms, to better meet the needs of learners.
5 Stars for Employability
Enhancing students’ career readiness is one of USTH’s key strengths. QS recognized the University’s diverse network of industry partners, which is effectively integrated into most of its academic programs and contributes to the high employment rate among graduates.
USTH also provides regular and structured career guidance and counseling activities, serving as an important bridge between academic life and the labor market and helping students make a confident transition from university to their professional careers.
5 Stars for Global Engagement
QS highly rated USTH’s extensive international partnerships with leading institutions across Europe and Asia. A particular strength is the University’s double degree programs with French partner universities at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
USTH’s academic programs also benefit from the participation of scientists and faculty members from French universities and research institutions, as well as institutions in other countries with advanced science and technology ecosystems. USTH students have opportunities for academic exchange and internships at laboratories, research institutes, universities, and companies across 20 countries.
At the same time, USTH is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for international students seeking opportunities to study, conduct research, and undertake internships. The University is also an active member of many reputable national and international higher education networks.
The three 5-Star ratings reflect three key pillars of USTH’s development strategy: a commitment to excellence in education, strong alignment between education and labor-market needs, and a high level of internationalization.
Achieving a 4-Star rating in our first-ever QS Stars assessment marks an important milestone in USTH’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of its education. It also provides further momentum for the University to remain committed to our ambition of becoming an excellent university and developing highly skilled talent in science and technology, in line with the expectations of the Governments of Vietnam and France.
