As educational institutions across Vietnam come together for the nationwide Opening Ceremony, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) will hold its Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 academic year for first-year students as follows::

This year’s Opening Ceremony carries the message “Dear Future Me” – a meaningful reminder marking the start of a journey where each new student can send their aspirations, write down promises, and commit to personal growth in the years ahead.
In the solemn atmosphere of the 2026 – 2027 academic year, USTH warmly welcomes Gen 17, named after Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH. As a dedicated leader, he has guided the university to remarkable international achievements (HCERES accreditation, QS Stars 4-star rating) and served as a vital “catalyst” bridging Vietnam – France academic relations. Carrying his name, Gen 17 is expected to use this inspiration as a launching pad to confidently step out into the world with scientific curiosity, the mindset of a global citizen, and a spirit of dedication to society.
