USTH finishes second at the National Physics Olympiad 2018

The team of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) has won the second prize at the 21st National Physics Olympiad.

This year’s event was held at Dong Nai University in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province from April 19-22, 2018 with participation of over 500 lecturers, academic staff and students from 43 universities and institutes across Vietnam. It’s the fifth time USTH has attended the national-level competition. Following the success in previous events as well as of other teams competing for the National Mathematical and Chemistry Olympiads, the Olympic Physics team of USTH achieved high results at the competition as below:

The National Physics Olympiad for Students is an annual event co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Physics Society as well as other universities and colleges nationwide. It aims to contribute to promoting and improving the quality of teaching and learning physics at universities, colleges and academies, together with searching for young talents in the field of physics. In addition, it offers a platform for students to exchange and share their passion for Physics.

USTH Physic team at the competition

Prior to that, the Olympic Chemistry team of USTH won one first prize and four second prizes while the Olympic Maths team grabbed one gold, two silver and one bronze medals.

As a prestigious university of science and technology majors, from the 2018-2019 academic year, USTH opens the Bachelor programe of Engineering Physics and Electronics, focusing on Mathematics, Physics, Electronics and Informatics. It is expected to provide highly competitive human resources in the labor market.
