USTH participated in "The 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum"

From June 1st to 3rd, 2017, the 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum took place in St. Lawrence, Petersburg (Russia). The annual International Economic Forum, focused on bringing balance to the global economy. This is the biggest economic event of the year, aims to discuss the trends, difficulties and prospects for the global economy.

The 21st Forum welcomed 12,000 members, representatives of 62 partners, 650 company leaders in Russia and 230 foreign business leaders.

Prof. Nguyen Van Hung, on behalf of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi, presented about "Environmental pollution challenges in Vietnam: current situation and solutions".The presentation has attracted a lot of public attentions towards the serious environmental pollution, and the need for drastic action and appropriate solutions to tackle the pollution crisis.

To introduce about the establishment of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi, Prof. Nguyen Van Hung said: "We are deeply aware of the development of many countries in the world, developed countries always invest in education and training; there is no scientific and technological achievement that does not start with the training of talented people. Therefore, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (also called Vietnam -France University) established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France".

Prof. Nguyen Van Hung introduced two training programs of USTH, which are Water-Environment-Oceanography (WEO) and Energy (related to UNESCO’s Green Chemistry program).

The Green Chemistry program encourages young scientists of the USTH to propose the related research topics related to the program for the Science Council to select.
