The Odon Vallet Scholarship Award ceremony 2018 for outstanding students and graduates from universities of science and medicine in northern part of Vietnam took place on August 24 at the Temple of Literature, Hanoi.
This year, the scholarships were awarded to 10 individuals of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University), including seven undergraduates and three master students.
Representatives of USTH at the ceremony were Prof. Patrick Boiron – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Vice Rector, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nga – Student Affairs Officer and ten awardees.
The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Professor Odon Vallet from France’s Sorbonne University, in order to support the science and education activities of the Rencontres du Vietnam organisation.
Not only does the scholarship recognize efforts and academic achievement of students at USTH and across Vietnam, but it is also a great motivation for them to continue their passion for science and spirit of studiousness. Additionally, it is a precious financial aid, helping disadvantaged students access to better study conditions.
After 17 years, the Odon Vallet Scholarship Fund has awarded 32,250 scholarships, worth over 350 billion VND, to excellent high school students, university undergraduates and graduates across Vietnam. The scholarship value and amounts increase year by year. It is also the largest non-governmental scholarship in Vietnam that was awarded over the past 20 years.
Finally, congratulations to USTH awardess!!!
