Wednesday - 13/10/2010 21:30

On Monday, October 4, 2010, the University of Toulouse honoured its new PhD graduates.
This year, the event was splashed with the colours of guest of honour Vietnam, giving evidence of the growing partnership between the University of Toulouse and that country.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Le Kinh Tai, Vietnam’s ambassador to France, alongside Dong Thi Bich Thuy, chairwoman of CONFRASIE (Conference of Rectors of Universities Belonging to the Francophony University Agency [AUF] in Asia-Pacific).
For the occasion, the University of Toulouse, one of the 50 universities and institutions of higher education making up the consortium supporting the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH), gave the place of honour to USTH doctoral candidates.
2009 saw Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, the Embassy of France and the USTH launch a programme “Become a teacher scientist at USTH.”
Under this programme, the University of Toulouse is hosting nine new doctoral students specialising in one of the various science and technology streams.
The programme will be extended on a yearly basis over the next ten years.
