USTH signs MOU with Hanyang University, South Korea

On 17th November 2017 University of Science and Technology of Hanoi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hanyang University, South Korea. 
The event was honored to have the presence on Hangyang University side by Prof. Young Moo Lee - President, Dr. Ki Jeong Lee - Vice President for International Affairs, Mr. Dae Won Sohn - Dean of College of Natural Science, Ms. Yuni Kang - Senior Manager of Office of International Affairs, Mr. Kyoung Bok Gwon - Chief of Media Strategy Center and Mr. Sang Cheol Oh - Media Strategy Center officer. 
On University of Science and Technology of Hanoi - USTH ( also known as Vietnam - France University) there was presence of Prof. Patrick Boiron - Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh - Vice Rector, Mr. Gerard Gasquet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Thu Ha - Co-Director of Administration, Mr. Radjesvarane Alexandre - Director of Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Nhung - International Cooperation officer.

According to the MOU, two institutions agree to encourage the following activities based on the spirit of reciprocal equality:
  • Joint research in the fields of mutual interest to the institutions
  • Exchange of faculty, research personnel and students between the institutions for research and study
  • Exchange of faculty and staff members for participation in conferences, seminars and workshops
  • Exchanges of materials in education, research, publications and academic information

Representatives of USTH and Hanyang University 
The MOU marks the official collaborative relationship between two institutions and foster the current collaboration. Dr. Tran Dinh Phong - Co - Director of Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology, USTH cum. lecturer at Chemistry Department, Hanyang University acts as a connection between two universities. Hanyang University will give some intern scholarships to USTH students as well as visiting lecturers and researchers. Some joint training programs, such as 2+2, 3+1 also will be executed soon.

Established in 1939, Hanyang University is the first private university in South Korea. Hanyang University now has about 40,000 students enrolling in the main campus at Seoul and the Erica campus at Ansan. Hangyang University has 1,200 professors. The Bachelor department has 96 faculties and the Master department has 87 faculties. In 2018 QS Ranking ranked Hangyang University 155th in the world regarding teaching quality and the first in South Korea regarding Innovation and Creativity. Hangyang University has over 300,000 alumni in which 10,000 of them are working as CEOs of leading corporations in South Korea with the annual revenue over USD 400 billion.

Signing ceremony of the MOU between USTH and Hanyang University ended well. Both institutions are looking forward to future opportunities for collaboration.
