On May 22, 2024, the USTH delegation led by Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH visited the Evering Institute in France to discuss potential training partnerships in the field of Aeronautics.
The Evering Institute was established by the University of Bordeaux in partnership with Bordeaux INP in 2019, building on the foundation of the Institute of Aeronautical Maintenance (IMA).
The Evering Institute is strategically located at the heart of the Bordeaux Mérignac airport area and spans two campuses in Mérignac and Talence. This location offers the advantage of being close to numerous aeronautical companies. The institute currently provides training programs ranging from Bachelor’s degrees (BAC+3) to Master’s degrees (BAC+5) in Aeronautics and Transport, along with other courses related to aeronautical maintenance.
The visit concluded with plans for future collaborative projects between USTH and the Evering Institute, including exchanges of French and Vietnamese students, a training partnership involving guest lecturers, and the development of a USTH Master’s program in maintenance.
Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest praised the Evering Institute’s model, highlighting its exceptional environment and proximity to industry leaders. He remarked on the institute’s ability to offer a rich educational experience closely aligned with industry demands, describing it as “a compelling model for USTH to emulate.”
