The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) is pleased to host a Tech Talks session featuring two international experts from the United States and the Netherlands on advanced techniques in photosynthesis measurement and plant physiology.
As climate change continues to challenge ecosystems and agricultural production, understanding how plants respond to environmental conditions has become increasingly important. This technical session will introduce integrated photosynthesis measurement systems combining gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence – one of the most advanced technologies currently used in plant physiology research.
Organized by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) in collaboration with LASI Scientific and Technical Equipment JSC, the working session promises to offer practical insights and open up new avenues for collaboration for the research community at USTH.
The session will feature two distinguished speakers:
- David Paul Johnson (USA) – Technical expert with extensive experience in photosynthesis measurement and plant physiological analysis.
- Richard Lee Vath (the Netherlands) – Technical expert specializing in the application of photosynthesis measurement technologies for crops, algae, and aquatic plants.
Agenda
- Overview of photosynthesis measurement, gas exchange, and chlorophyll fluorescence techniques in plant research.
- Applications of advanced plant physiological measurement technologies in agriculture and environmental science.
- Live demonstration and hands-on experience with an integrated photosynthesis measurement system.
- Discussion on opportunities for research collaboration, training, and technology transfer.
This event is open to USTH researchers, faculty members and students interested in plant science, agricultural technology, environmental research and related fields. Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with international experts and gain first-hand experience with cutting-edge research equipment.
- Time: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday, July 20, 2026
- Venue: Room P402, A21 Building, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), 18 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Nghia Do Ward, Hanoi, Vietnam.
