On April 12th, 2023, a cooperation agreement between University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) and Weather Force and ISCALE was officially signed.
Participating in the meeting, on the side of USTH was Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector, Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong – Vice Rector, Mr. Luc Le Calvez – Director of Direction of Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer (DRITT), Assoc. Prof. Ngo Duc Thanh – Co-Director of Department of Space and Applications, Dr. Tran Giang Son – Co-Director of Department of Information and Communication Technology, Dr. To Thi Mai Huong – Deputy Director of DRITT, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Trang – Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation; on the side of Weather Force was Mr. Pascal Venzac – COO, Ms. Morgane Lovat – Head of Product Marketing, Ms. Kelly Grassi – Data Scientist; on the side of ISCALE was Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Director, Mr. Nguyen Dac Da – Project Manager.
After introducing and welcoming the delegates attending the ceremony, the representatives of USTH and Weather Force and ISCALE made remarks on the cooperation between parties.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH, emphasized the importance of cooperation that USTH could not develop without strong partnership. The university needs to be close to its partners in order to provide students knowledge and skills to be able to work well in the real working environment. Professor also expressed his delight at the new step in the partnership between USTH and Weather Force and ISCALE. In addition, he hopes that the two companies and the university will work together to support and encourage good students to join Master and PhD programs and contribute to the development of the companies, the university as well as the countries.
On behalf of Weather Force, Mr. Pascal Venzac – COO, affirmed that USTH and Weather Force are sharing the common research directions. The cooperation between the companies and the university will help to gather talents from both sides and to develop their research. The success of the projects will help to deal with climate change which affects the global economy and people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Director of ISCALE, highly appreciated USTH’s training programs as well as USTH students. Moreover, he believed that the joint research projects between the two companies and the university will be successful and benefit weather sensitive businesses and contribute to the development of technologies in agriculture.
In addition, on behalf of USTH, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Duc Thanh – Co-Director of Department of Space and Applications and Mr. Luc Le Calvez – Director of Direction of Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer (DRITT) shared that Weather Force, ISCALE and USTH are working in the same spirit for good outcomes. They also expressed their happiness and expectation for the success of the cooperation plan in the coming time.
At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Mr. Pascal Venzac and Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien signed the cooperation agreement between USTH and Weather Force and ISCALE. This is a milestone in the long-term cooperation relationship between USTH and Weather Force and ISCALE, and a promise to successful joint research activities in the future.
