On the morning of 23 February 2026 (the seventh day of the Lunar New Year of Bính Ngọ), Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, paid a visit to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to extend New Year greetings and hold a working session. As part of his programme, the Prime Minister visited the faculty members and students of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi during the very first days of the new spring.
Joining the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Prime Minister, and Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Science and Technology.

Representing the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) were Professor and Academician Chau Van Minh, President of VAST; Professor Tran Hong Thai, Executive Vice President of VAST and Chairman of the USTH University Council; Professor Tran Tuan Anh, Vice Presidents of VAST; Professor Chu Hoang Ha; and Associate Professor Bui The Duy.

During the visit and working session, the Prime Minister underscored the pivotal role of science, technology, and innovation in the country’s strategy for rapid and sustainable development. He also expressed his profound conviction that Viet Nam’s future depends to a great extent on the younger generation – students who are pursuing their studies and research, strengthening their resilience, and nurturing aspirations to contribute to society. The Prime Minister emphasised that opportunities are always open to those who are passionate, capable, and constantly strive to surpass themselves in order to contribute to society and the nation.

The Prime Minister’s guidance and messages have further strengthened the confidence, enthusiasm and motivation of USTH’s staff members, lecturers, scientists and students at the beginning of the new year. His visit served as a timely encouragement and, at the same time, reflected the close attention, leadership and guidance of the Party and the Government for the development of science and technology, the training of high-quality human resources, and proactive international integration.

Deeply appreciative of this trust and expectation, the entire USTH community remains determined to uphold its tradition of solidarity, continuously enhance the quality of education and research in accordance with international standards, expand its international cooperation network, maintain and strengthen its strategic partnerships with leading French educational and research institutions, promote innovation, and make practical contributions to the country’s development in the new era.
