On December 9, 2021, Vietnam Academy Science and Technology (VAST) is going to organize the Launching ceremony of the University Council 2021-2026 and awarding decisions on appointing the Chairman of University Council and Principal Rector of USTH with the details below:

At the ceremony, on behalf of VAST, Acad. Prof. Chau Van Minh – President of VAST will announce and award the decisions on appointing two important leadership positions of USTH including Prof. Chu Hoang Ha – Vice President of VAST to be appointed as Chairman of University Council and Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest to be appointed as Principal Rector.
The appointment of devoted and experienced leaders from Vietnam and France to hold the key leadership positions of USTH will create a solid foundation for the future development of the University as it enters an important phase of sustainable development and expansion as well as shows the commitment and determination of the Government of Vietnam and the Government of France in building USTH to become a world-class university in Vietnam, the region and the world.
At the event, USTH is launching the University Council 2021-2026, consisting of 20 members, who are representatives of VAST, Ministry of Education and Training, the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, USTH Consortium and universities, research institutes, businesses strategic partners of the University in training and research.
The event is even more meaningful when it takes place on the 12th anniversary of the establishment of USTH (December 9, 2009 – December 9, 2021). This is also an opportunity for USTH staff, lecturers, and students to look back on the achievements for the last 12 years and set new goals for the upcoming years.
