On August 22, 2024, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) successfully held the Graduation Ceremony for the doctoral, master, and bachelor graduates in the academic year 2023-2024.
The event was attended by representatives from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and our partners, as well as the USTH Rector Board, lecturers, and staff. Joining them were the new doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s graduates along with their families.
In the opening speech, Prof. Chu Hoang Ha – Vice President of VAST, President of USTH University Council described the graduation ceremony as a momentous event that symbolizes the students’ growth and achievement after a demanding educational journey. He congratulated the graduates on overcoming the numerous challenges to complete the “marathon” of earning 180 credits over three years in English – taught programs. He expressed his hope that the graduates would maintain their commitment to hard work, creativity, and professionalism, regardless of their future roles in research institutes, universities, or businesses. Prof. Ha expressed confidence that their youthful energy, enthusiasm, passion, and creativity would lead them to personal success and make significant contributions to their families, USTH, the scientific community, and Vietnam.
Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH also extended his congratulations to the new doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s graduates for successfully completing their programs. He recognized their degrees as the fruits of their hard work and dedication during their studies at USTH, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of Vietnam’s significant transformations, including modernization, industrialization, economic shifts toward becoming a middle-income country, and climate and energy transitions affecting many sectors, he encouraged the graduates to continue striving and to use their skills to support the nation’s ongoing advancements in science and technology.
On behalf of his fellow graduates, Hoang Anh Tuan, a new graduate of the Chemistry program, shared his pride and joy. He thanked the lecturers for their inspiring and dedicated teaching, which not only imparted knowledge but also cultivated a lasting passion for science. He also expressed gratitude to his parents and loved ones for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his studies. Hoang Anh stated, “Today’s success is not just ours but belongs to everyone who supported us.”
He also encouraged his fellow graduates to embrace challenges, face failures, and learn from their mistakes. “Let us be bold in our dreams but also remain humble in our approach. This is just the beginning. We are the ones who will build our own future, and the possibilities are endless. Now, let’s go out there and show the world who we are.”
At the ceremony, the university recognized and honored students who graduated with distinction and high honors for the academic year 2023-2024.
The event concluded with Prof. Chu Hoang Ha, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hai Dang, and Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong, along with the heads of academic departments, presenting degrees to the new doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s graduates.
