1. Introduction
University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), also – called “Vietnam-France University”, is an International standard public university in Vietnam established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France. It has received strong support from Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), the French Government, and a Consortium of more than 40 French universities and research organizations.
The training programs of USTH have been accredited by HCERES (The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education in France). The official teaching language is English. USTH focuses on promoting high quality training programs in parallel with research activities and strong connections with enterprises.
2. Objectives of the assignment
USTH is looking for an English lecturer for the English programs. An English lecturer will be positioned as a teaching member in the Foreign Languages Center (FLC) and will be involved in the development and operation of the English programs at USTH
3. Scope of Work
Main responsibilities:
– Planning, preparing and delivering high quality English language teaching based on required learning outcomes and approved syllabus at USTH;
– Developing the syllabus and assessment of English language programs at USTH;
– Contributing to the implementation, evaluation, and improvement of English Language courses;
– Providing students with assistance, guidance, instruction and support to discuss issues and accomplishments and supporting student progress;
– Taking part in grading, exam supervising and completing other teaching-related tasks;
– Dealing with other tasks assigned by the FLC Director and the Rector Board.
4. Qualifications, skill and experience requirements
– Having a Master Degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics (preferred from an English speaking country);
– Having at least 2 years’ experience in teaching English (work experience in universities is preffered);
– Being very good at presentation and teaching skill;
– Proven experience in course and syllabus design;
– Being honest, enthusiastic, dynamic and highly precise.
