University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) on April 4th, 2018 organised an admission interview for Bachelor programs of the academic year 2018-2019 at Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School, Hoa Binh province.
This year, the number of applications of Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School applying for USTH’s Bachelor programs doubled the one last year. In addition, thanks to the support of the school’s rectorate board, an admission interview of USTH was held at its high school partner to create incentives to students who live far away from Hanoi and strengthen relations between USTH and high schools.
Interviewees were from different specialised classes, including scientific and social classes. Particularly, students who obtained high prizes at the recent National Exam for Excellent Students also attended the interview. Offer letters were handed to those who expressed their passion for science and technology and their knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and IT after the interview.
Doan Viet Trinh, Grade 12 Chemistry, said she studied English intensively for two months because she was passionate about USTH. Trinh nailed the interview with not only her comprehensive knowledge but also her good command of English and confidence.
This year, in order to bring more opportunities to science and technology lovers who are not able to study English at high school, USTH opens one-year intensive English program to help students improve their English skills before entering the main course.
The Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School is one of the high schools which the USTH is having the partnership with. The two sides signed a cooperation agreement on April 17, 2017. Accordingly, students of Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School who pass and study at USTH will be entitled to a 12.5% discount on tuition fees for the first academic year.
Besides, USTH pledges to support science events and co-organise career orientation activities for students of Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School. Recently, USTH attended the Scientific Performance Contest of the high school as a guest of honor and a sponsor to encourage the passion for science of the high school’s students.
From now to the national high school graduation exam, USTH holds only one early intake for bachelor programs with admission methods of academic transcript assessment and interview.
The third dossier admission wave for Bachelor programs of USTH will run through May 2 – 16, 2016 with interview from May 26-27, 2018.
