A signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) and Institute of Environment Technology – IET) under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) took place on May 8th, 2018.
Attended the event on the IET side was Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Tuyen – Director of IET and Deputy Directors namely Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Hue, Dr. Nguyen Tran Dien, Dr. Do Van Manh and other officials.
On the USTH side were Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Vice Rector of USTH, Assoc. Prof Vu Thi Thu Ha – Co-Director of Administration; Prof. Radjesvarane Alexandre – Director of Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer; Dr. Mai Huong – Coordinator of Water-Environment-Oceanography (WEO) program and other staff of USTH.
Besides, the event saw participation of Mr. Dan-Tâm Costa – Co-Director of Epurtek – a French venture on high-tech application in water and waste treatment.
According to the MoU, two sides will promote exchange of lecturers and students, academic publications as well as support research activities and organize joint research programs and seminars.
Since its establishment, USTH has been strongly supported by VAST units, including IET. The signing ceremony marks a milestone in academic and research cooperation between USTH and IET.
Particularly, the research on Smart Garden by Dr. Mai Huong – Coordinator of WEO has received much attention and support of IET. It is part of International Joint Lab Study Center of the Land-Ocean-atmosphere regional coupled System (LOTUS) co-founded by USTH and Laboratory of studies on Spatial Geophysics and Oceanography (LEGOS). Therefore, the MoU is expected to foster the success of the project.
During the event, USTH, IET and Epurtek representative – Mr. Dan-Tâm Costa discussed projects run by IET, applications of high-tech in water and waste treatment in Vietnam as well as cooperation opportunities.
