On March 15th, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) welcomed a delegation from La Rochelle University to discuss research and training cooperation.
On a working day, on behalf of La Rochelle University, there were Prof. Jean-Marc Ogier – Rector of the university, Prof. Éric Monteiro – Vice-Rector who is in charge of international relation issues, Prof. Xavier Feaugas – Vice-Rector who is in charge of research issues.
Representing USTH, there were Prof. Patrick Boiron – Rector of the university, Prof. Antoine Doucet – Co-Director of ICT Department who is also teaching at La Rochelle University, Prof. Radjesvarane Alexandre – Director of Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer.
At the meeting, the two universities focused on cooperation research, technology transfer, and training programs in the direction of co-guidance and co-accreditation.
Currently, La Rochelle is one of the USTH’s partners which co-accredits Master degree in the field of ICT and Water – Environment – Oceanography. This university is the part of USTH Consortium. Every year, this university nominates its lectures for bachelor, master and Ph.D. programs at USTH.
Moreover, besides Institute of Information Technology Hanoi and IRD, La Rochelle is also an important partner of USTH to establish ICT Lab.
From March 18th to March 24th, La Rochelle cooperated with ICT Lab, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), La Rochelle University, IRD, Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence (SMIA),… etc to organize the 19th International Conference on Computational Linguistics and Intelligent Text Processing (CICLing) at USTH.
This is one of an annual leading international conference about computational linguistics and intelligent text processing, attracting a number of experts and researchers in these fields. In 2017, CICLing ranked 20th sources (conferences and journals) on computational linguistics by Google Scholar.
Known as the youngest university in France, 1993-establishment, La Rochelle has up to 170 university partners in 48 countries in the world. Hence, this university attracted many international students which account for 22 percent of total students of the university. Its key training majors are Law, Economics, Art, Literature, and Science.
In order to bring studying and internship opportunities for the students, USTH really pays attention to develop international partner network. By the beginning of 2018, USTH has had a network with 70 international partners such as universities and institutes in France, Japan, Korean and Taiwan.
