On March 30th, 2023, a cooperation agreement between University Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) on implementing the double bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology – Drug Discovery was officially signed.
Participating in the ceremony, on the side of USPN, was Prof. Christophe Fouqueré – President, Prof. Olivier Oudar – Vice President, Responsible of the Bio Bachelor degree, Prof. Eric Assier – Responsible of the Bio Bachelor degree, Prof. Yann Charles – Responsible of International Relations Department (Asia region); on the side of USTH, was Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector, Assoc. Prof. Eric Lacombe – Director of Department of Life Sciences, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh – Deputy Director of Department of Life Sciences, Dr. Hoang Thi Hong Cam – Deputy Director of Department of Academic Affairs, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Trang – Deputy Head of Department of International Cooperation.
In order to affirm the position and quality of training in the field of science and technology with an ideal international learning environment, from 2022, USTH cooperates with French universities to launch 03 double bachelor’s degree programs, including Biotechnology – Drug Discovery, signed between USPN and USTH.
According to this cooperation agreement, students will study 02 years at USTH and 01 year at USPN. Especially, during the time at USTH, students will have the opportunity to hone their knowledge under the guidance of experienced lecturers from USPN. After graduation, students will receive two degrees, one from USTH and one from USPN.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Prof. Christophe Fouqueré expressed their delight at the new stage of the partnership between USTH and USPN, as well as their belief in the success of the double degree program. This demonstrates the strong commitment between the two universities to provide students with opportunities to study and research in an international environment. Besides, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest emphasized the important role of French partner universities in supporting USTH for the goal of becoming an excellent university.
At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Prof. Christophe Fouqueré signed the double degree cooperation agreement between USPN and USTH, opening up opportunities to study in France for young people who are passionate about Biotechnology – Drug Discovery and desire to experience an international environment, thereby accessing job opportunities on an international scale.
