A ceremony to thank President of Orient Europharma (OEP) Co., Ltd – Mr. Peter Tsai – for his sponsorship for USTH students to take internship at Taiwan’s Yang-Ming University was held at USTH on May 10th, 2018.
The event saw attendance of Mr. Peter Tsai – President of OEP and his spouse; Prof Ying F. Huang – representative of Yang-Ming University; as well as leaders and officials of OEP. On the USTH side were Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Vice Rector of USTH, lecturers and students of the university.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh sincerely thanked Yang-Ming University for supporting USTH students during their internship in Taiwan, together with the sponsorship of OEP Co., Ltd.
Mrs. Mai Thanh also expressed her hope to further cooperate with OEP Co.,Ltd, stressing that USTH wished OEP Co., Ltd could recruit USTH students after their graduation by providing USTH with the enterprise’s training requirements and job commitment to students.
She also added that if the deal is signed, USTH’s training programs will be improved while OEP will employ human resources that meet the need of the company.
In 2017, USTH and Yang-Ming University signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Accordingly, over 50 students of the Bachelor and Master of Pharmacological, Medical and Agronomical Biotechnology attended an internship program at Yang-Ming University in the last two years. The program offered a great opportunity for USTH students to gain practical experience at medical companies collaborating with Yang-Ming University’s laboratories.
Prof. Chi-Ying F. Huang, who was the mentor of USTH students at Ying-Ming University, said not only did President Peter Tsai invest his money, but he also took care of the Vietnamese interns, adding that he really cared and believed in the career development of USTH students.
According to the President Peter Tsai, he offered job opportunities for excellent USTH interns at Yang-Ming University, as well as foster ones who want to work at OEP.
