The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (also called Vietnam France University) successfully held a Science Day on February 4, 2018.
The event drew attention of numerous students and teachers from Cam Giang High School of Hai Duong province and Lam Son High School for Gifted Students of Thanh Hoa province as well as parents and students who were interested in.
It was a golden chance for USTH to provide parents, students and teachers of high school in and outside of Hanoi with sufficient information relating to admission, training programmes of the University and career prospect in the field of science and technology, also to answer questions of participants.
At the event, Prof. Patrick Boiron – Rector of USTH – sent his greetings and gratitude to event attendants, especially those from high schools outside of Hanoi who had travelled a long distance to get to USTH. The Rector also gave a brief introduction on the university’s training programmes, admission and new points of the 2018-2019 admission.
From the academic year 2018-2019, USTH launches the Bachelor programme in Aeronautical Engineering and the Master programme in International Air Transport Operations Management with strong support of Airbus Corporation and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam Aviation Corporation or Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), French Civil Aviation University or École nationale de l’aviation civile (ENAC) and Institut aéronautique et spatial (IAS). According to the cooperative agreement signed on December 15th 2017, Vietnam Airlines pledges to employ 30 graduates from the Bachelor programme in Aeronautical Engineering annually in the first five cohorts with enrollment of the period 2018-2022.
Besides the two programmes, from the year of 2018-2019, USTH also opens four new programmes, namely Cyber Security, Chemistry, Engineering Physics and Electronics as well as Applied Mathematics as well as an English preparatory programme for students whose English needs improving.
During the events, questions about training programmes and career opportunities of participants were answered by lecturers, admission officials and training coordination of USTH. The Bachelor programmes in Information and Communication Technology, Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Pharmacological, Medical and Agronomical Biotechnology and Aeronautical Engineering received much concern of participants.
The event also offered a platform for attendants to listen to experience and sharing of USTH students who used to study or take internship overseas, thus understanding better opportunities of the university for students to study or take internship abroad.
During the event, visits to international-standard laboratories, Product Lifecycle Competency Centre (PLMCC) and Fablab – a platform for learning and innovation of science lovers were held to help participants gain better insights into scientific research activities and study environment of USTH.
The second admission wave for Bachelor will start from March 1-16th, 2016 with the interview round taking place March 30-31, 2018.
