Dr. Nguyen Thy Ngoc received his Doctorate Degree in Genomic and Bioinformatic at the University of Aix – Marseille, France in 2016. He is currently a Deputy Director at the Department of Academic Affairs, University of Science and Technology and a lecturer – researcher at the Life Sciences Department.
Dr. Ngoc’s research focuses on the human genome and the genetic variations that are involved in inherited diseases. The overall objective is to identify genes, gene networks and their variations involved in the outcome of human diseases. The technique combines a positional cloning approach in humans, and functional analysis in genetic polymorphisms. Many research projects of Dr. Ngoc has been funded by different grants such as: The research on genetic factors of skeletal limb abnormalities was granted by VAST, GUST, or the research on genetic predisposition to hematologic malignancies was granted by NAFOSTED and VINIF.
Since 2017, Dr. Ngoc has been the main author of many publications published in reputable scientific journal such as Clinica Chimica Acta, Glycobiology, Gene and Immunity.
