Dear All,
“Joining the USTH is above all choosing a demanding and challenging path of excellence, open to the international community, committed to training the new generations of science and technology experts who will drive Vietnam’s growth in the future”.
Since its creation in 2009 under the intergovernmental agreement between Vietnam and France, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH, has become a university recognized for its excellence in the fields of science, technology and engineering, affirming its position in the Vietnamese and international education system.
With the support of the Vietnamese government, the French government, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and a consortium of more than 30 French universities and research institutes, the USTH offers high-quality programs taught entirely in English, following the curricula model of French and European universities. In 2023, the USTH joined the closed circle of 11 Vietnamese universities under an international institutional accreditation.
- Our core values are respect for diversity, open-mindedness, integrity, a focus on quality, solidarity and a determination to improve.
- Our ambition is to train a new generation of young scientists who will contribute to Vietnam’s major challenges: climate and environment, energy transition, biology, biodiversity and health.
In the context of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is profoundly changing all aspects of life, and creating new trends in human resources, at USTH, we equip students with not only knowledge, skills but also creative capabilities and quick adaptability to become global citizens and future leaders, serving for the industrialization and modernization of the country.
The achievements of USTH today are the result of persistent efforts, dedication, responsibility, and solidarity of the entire staff, lecturers, researchers, staff, and students together with the great support of stakeholders from Vietnam, France and many countries around the world.
As the Principal Rector, I am proud of what USTH has accomplished for the past 15 years and have a strong belief in the development potential of USTH in many years to come. I hope that we will work together to drive USTH forward, maximizing our strengths to meet the expectations of the two governments of Vietnam – France.
Warmly Regards,
Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest
Principal Rector of USTH
