On November 18, 2021, Do Tung Duong attended the ceremony to honor excellent valedictorians graduating from universities and academies in Hanoi 2021. This is an annual event organized by the Hanoi Youth Union with the aim to acknowledge and praise the students for their efforts and hard work.
Do Tung Duong graduated with honors and was named the valedictorian of the USTH’s bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy with an overall GPA of 17.43/20. He is also one of the bachelor’s graduates with the highest academic standing among the graduating class of 2021.
During 3 years at USTH, Tung Duong had always focused and tried hard to achieve the best results in his study. He continuously received scholarships granted by USTH in 2019, 2020 and 2021 for his academic accomplishment.
Besides, Tung Duong actively participated in scientific research activities to gain his experience as well as improve his professional knowledge and skills. In 2020, Tung Duong won the award granted by the Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition Social Enterprise at the Scientific Research Student Forum, co-organized by the EU – Viet Nam Energy Facility (EVEF) and the School of Electrical Engineering / Hanoi University of Science & Technology. In 2021, Tung Duong led his research group to successfully present their project proposal and receive funding from the USTH-20 Program. He also had his first publication published in a high-ranking scientific journal in Vietnam as the main author.
Moreover, he participated in various activities organized by USTH, Youth Union, “Learning Support” Club, and Football Club.
Stating after the ceremony, Tung Duong thanked the lecturers of the Department of Energy for their support in creating a nurturing environment for him to study and develop his capacity. He expressed his honor and pride to represent the students of USTH at such a special and meaningful event.
According to Tung Duong, “self-study” is one of the most important factors for students to maintain and improve their learning. Thanks to the study program taught entirely in English, he is able to quickly get used to reading and searching information on international websites. He also emphasized the importance of joining the research projects with USTH lecturers since it is the “shortest” way for students to apply their knowledge into practice and soon find their own path.
Congratulations to Tung Duong! We wish you always keep your passion and succeed in your future endeavors.
