During the business trip to France, the delegation of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) had meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of National Education and Youth, France Universities Association, and ISAE-SupMéca.
The delegation was led by Prof. Le Truong Giang – Vice President of VAST.
In the meeting with Ministry of National Education and Youth, the delegation was welcomed by Mr. Nicolas Marques – Deputy Director of International Relations, Mr. Hervé Ferrage, Director of France Education, and Mr. Benoit Talleu, Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH said: “We are shaping the foundation of an excellent professional campus partnership in Hanoi focused on Industry 4.0, which is central to USTH’s strategy and aligns perfectly with Vietnam’s development goals. The meeting resulted in a clear roadmap for moving forward at the ministerial and institutional levels. We also have strong support from the French group Dassault Systèmes.”
In the meeting with the France Universities Association, the delegation was welcomed by Prof. Guillaume Gellé – President of FU, and Prof. François Pernot – Director of International Relations.
Prof. Le Truong Giang expressed his appreciation to the France Universities Association for its clear and strategic vision, representing French universities’ voice to the government and parliament. Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed USTH’s aspiration to become an associate member of FU, given its status as a Franco-Vietnamese university offering many co-accredited and dual-degree programs with French universities. According to FU, this request is sensible in light of USTH’s evolution, its missions, and its recent institutional accreditation for 2023-2028 by HCERES.
The delegation also had a meeting with the representatives of the engineering school ISAE SupMéca in Paris. The two institutions are collaborating to design a new Master’s program in Mechatronics and establish a dedicated space for Aeronautics using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, supported by Dassault Systèmes.
Mr. Philippe Girard, Director of ISAE SupMéca, and Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed their strong confidence in the strategic partnership between the two institutions in training and research.
