Last May 2024, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) delegation led by Prof. Le Truong Giang – Vice-President of VAST – visited and exchanged with representatives of CNRS (France). Delegation members included Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest – Principal rector of USTH, Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh – Rector of USTH, and many other senior officials. CNRS is one of the strategic partners in France of VAST and USTH.
Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Alain Schuhl – Executive Director of Science of CNRS, and Mr. Edouard Besserve – Directorate of Europe and International Research of CNRS.
During the visit, both sides had the opportunity to look back on the long and close cooperation journey between VAST – CNRS in general and new cooperation projects of USTH – CNRS in particular, especially after the visit of Mr. Antoine Petit – General Director of CNRS at the end of 2023 in Hanoi.
“CNRS is a strategic partner in research development and a bridge between France and Vietnam. Nowadays, with support from the CNRS regional office in Singapore, thematic seminars are held annually. These workshops can pave the way for implementing International Research Projects (IRP) to help USTH strengthen cooperation in many fields such as hydrogen production or biotechnology.” – Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest emphasized.
