On August 30, 2023, a cooperation agreement between University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) on implementing the double bachelor’s degree in Chemistry was officially signed in France.
In order to continue to affirm its position and quality of training in science and technology with an ideal international learning environment, USTH continuously promotes cooperation with French universities. In particular, URCA is one of three French universities (along with University of Paris-Est Créteil and Aix – Marseille University) that has signed a cooperation agreement on implementing the double bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with USTH.
The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the French Universities Conference. The annual event marks the beginning of a new academic year for universities in France. The conference was attended by the French Minister of Higher Education and Research (Prof. Sylvie Retailleau) and presidents of French universities. This year is also the first year USTH is honored to be invited to attend.
At the conference, Prof. Jean – Marc Lavest – Principal Rector of USTH, discussed with Prof. Guillaume Gelle – President of the Association of French Universities, Principal Rector of URCA about the USTH’s remarkable transformation in recent years. At the same time, Prof. Jean – Marc Lavest expressed USTH’s expectations of further tightening bilateral cooperation with French universities in training and research development. For his part, Prof. Guillaume Gelle affirmed his willingness to promote cooperation at the highest level between the two sides.
Prof. Jean – Marc Lavest and Prof. Guillaume Gelle signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in training and granting the double bachelor’s degree in Chemistry between USTH and URCA. This is considered as the clearest proof of the previous exchanges between the two sides.

According to the cooperation agreement, USTH students will study 2 years in Vietnam and 1 year in France (URCA). URCA students also spend 2 years in France and 1 year in Vietnam. In particular, during their studies, students will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge under the guidance of experienced lecturers from the two universities. Upon graduation, students will receive two diplomas, one from USTH and one from URCA.
The signing ceremony will certainly bring more opportunities to study abroad in France for young Vietnamese students who are passionate about Chemistry & Chemical Technology, to experience, train themselves and best prepare for a career in a dynamic training environment according to European standards in Vietnam and France.
