SEED SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCHANGE AND RESEARCH INTERNSHIP IN
UNIVERSITY OF QUÉBEC À TROIS-RIVIÈRES (CANADA)

SEED Scholarships (Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development) is an academic exchange program of the Government of Canada for Southeast Asian students who are currently studying at Universities and Colleges, wishing to study. and research in Canada for a short term.
The scholarship aims to reduce poverty for developing countries in Southeast Asia, towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (2030).
Within the framework of the Student Exchange Cooperation Agreement between the University of Québec à Trois-Rivières (Canada) and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), the International Cooperation Department is pleased to announce SEED scholarships for exchange and research internship in the academic year 2022-2023 for students studying at USTH.

Eligible applicants
Full-time undergraduate and master students of USTH, holding Vietnamese nationality or citizenship of ASEAN member states.
Note: Students with Canadian citizenship/ who are participating in another Canadian scholarship program/ already enrolled in a Canadian degree program/ who have received a SEED-ANASE scholarship will not be eligible to apply for this program.

Time
Exchange program will start in August, 2022
Research internship program will start in January, 2023

Reward
10,200 CAD (~183 million) for 4 months or 1 semester
12,700 CAD (~228 million) for 6 months (Master only)
CAD 15,900 (~286 million) for 8 months or 2 semesters (Bachelor only)

Teaching language
The short-term exchange program will be taught entirely in French
French language requirements: at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
For the research internship, the language will depend on the research supervisor (French or English).

Application process and application form
Procedure:
Interested candidates apply to USTH’s International Cooperation Department.
The International Cooperation Department filters applications and sends student records to the University of Québec à Trois-Rivière.
University of Québec à Trois-Rivière assesses records and notifies USTH and students about accepted records.
Students prepare the required documents and the application form of the partner university.
Expected announcement of scholarship results: End of May, 2022.

Transcript (with signature of the faculty)
A scanned copy of your passport with a validity of more than 6 months or a scanned copy of your Citizenship ID
01 Letter of intent (maximum 1 page) explaining how the chosen field of study will play a role for Vietnam and the ASEAN region in reducing poverty and narrowing the development gap between countries. The explanation letter should include:
Brief description of the candidate’s chosen field of study
Briefly describe why the field of study shares the same goals as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
Describe in detail it is which goal in the list of Sustainable Development goals
Briefly describe the plan to apply the knowledge learned in Canada to contribute to poverty reduction in Vietnam
Other documents required by the partner university (can be submitted later)
