1. INTRODUCTION
Chemistry industry keeps increasing fastly in Vietnam nowadays. In the near future, it will grow more rapidly with the participation of foreign investors, the import of new technologies and the increase of domestic production. Therefore, in order to get control of new technologies and create added values, Vietnam needs a new generation of talent chemists who are provided with modern knowledge and necessary skills for integration and international competition.
The Bachelor Program in Chemistry at USTH is created to provide high – qualified employees for the field of Chemistry in Vietnam.
The program is designed also to ensure selectivity, modern science contents and teaching pedagogy. The program emphasizes the practice of critical thinking, self-learning and practical skills of students. After completing the program, students are able to compete for the best scholarships for graduate programs in the US, Europe, Japan, etc. or those positions that are able to contribute positively to society and in accordance with the development needs of individuals.
2. PROGRAM
The training program balances between theory and practice; emphasizes the practice of critical thinking, self-learning ability and soft skills of students. Practical exercises are either designed as individual courses (for the purpose of training practical skills) or integrated in classroom lectures (helping students acquire knowledge through practice).
The training program specially focuses on chemistry of natural products to equip students with the knowledge and necessary tools to create new values from the rich biodiversity of Vietnam.
The program is delivered by dynamic, qualified and experienced international researchers at USTH and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. Selected teaching curricula are the ones being taught leading universities in France and in the world.
The full-time USTH Chemistry program consists one of (two semester and 60 ECTS) of general science subjects and two years (four semesters, 120 ECTS) of foundation subjects and advanced subjects of chemical sciences.

3. INTERNSHIP
To increase the research and internship opportunities for the students, the Department of Fundamental and Applied Science has been developing collaboration with national and international partners.
Ever since its foundation, FAS department has always paid special attention to the development of collaboration network as well as strengthening existing ones. This is advantageous for students in obtaining internship opportunities at prestigious universities, research institutions and companies.
Out of the graduated students from the first two intakes, many chose to remain and work at specialized laboratories at USTH, while several wished to improve themselves with research activities at various institutions inside VAST as well as other partners.
The list of internship opportunities from national and international partners of FAS department can be found below:
