On November 8th, 2020, the PLoS Biology Journal (USA) announced the list of 100,000 leading scientists in the world with the greatest impact in 2020. Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong, Director of the Department of Fundamental and Applied Science is one of 22 Vietnamese scientists on the list.
In the publication “Update the full scientific author database on standardized citation indexes” published in the journal PLoS Biology (USA) – an ISI journal with an impact factor (IF) of 7,620, the authors have listed 100,000 scientists with the most citations from 1960 to 2019 in the world based on the Scopus database of the Elsevier Publishing. Accordingly, Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong is ranked 90,842 on the list.
The research evaluated the scientists based on 6 citation indicators, namely: total citations; Hirsch h-index; Schreiber hm-index; citations for articles that are registered as sole author (single author); citations for articles as sole or first author (first author) and a citation for articles as sole, first, or last author (last author).
Along with that, scientists are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.
Besides Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Phong, there have been 21 other Vietnamese scientists who are currently working in Vietnam also honored in the list.
