General Introduction

1. About us

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH, also called Vietnam-France University) is established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France. USTH is a Vietnamese public university which meets international standards, with the ambition to become one of the most excellent research-oriented university in Vietnam.

USTH is the only university in Vietnam which is strongly supported by more than 40 French leading universities and research institutes, among them the most prestigious research organizations of France, for example National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, University of Lyon 1, University of Paris Saclay, University of Montpellier, French National Centre for Space Studies, the Paris Observatory, the French Institute of Research for Development…

After almost 10 years of operation and development, USTH has accomplished vital achievements in training and scientific research; thus is considered as the biggest cooperation project in the field of higher education of the French government abroad.

On November 2, 2018, the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam-France period 2019-2023 for the development of USTH was signed, showing determination and commitment of the two countries to make USTH to be an excellent university with international standard in training and research, especially to be one of the TOP university in the South East Asia.

2. Our education

USTH is the leading university in Asia following the Bologna process for Diploma, in which the training duration of Bachelor, Master and PhD level will be 3 years, 2 years and 3 years respectively. This is also the model widely used in most universities of more than 45 European countries.

Additionally, all the Bachelor and Master training programs of USTH were accredited by the High Council of Evaluation of Research and Higher Education in France (HCERES) - the most prestigious education quality accreditation organization in France and Europe. Being recognized by HCERES is a guarantee for the training education of USTH with learners and the international academic community.

USTH provides multi-cultural study environment with English as the teaching language. Students study under the guidance and support of excellent international and Vietnamese lecturers, with a wealth of experience working and doing research in France, Australia, Singapore, Japan…

Applying an innovative teaching method, USTH prepares students a global mind and a cross-cultural understanding to work in any local and or international context.
