10 outstanding USTH students receive Odon Vallet scholarships 2019

The Odon Vallet Scholarship Award ceremony 2019 for outstanding students and graduates with excellent achievements in the 2019 academic year in Northern Viet Nam took place on August 25 at the Temple of Literature, Ha Noi.This year, USTH was honored to have 10 students out of 130 students from 12 Northern Science and Technology training schools being presented the Odon Vallet scholarships.

Representatives of USTH to attend the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh, Prof. Etienne Saur – Rector, and excellent students receiving the scholarships.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Etienne Saur said: “The Odon Vallet scholarship is always highly appreciated by USTH because of its great value and humanity. We are proud of the achievements that our students have accomplished over the past few years with a total of 88 students who have received the Odon Vallet scholarships since 2011. ”

Not only does the scholarship recognize academic efforts and achievements of students at USTH and across Vietnam, but it is also a great motivation for them to pursue their passion for science and intellectualism. Additionally, it is a precious source of financial aid, helping disadvantaged students to access better study conditions.

The Vallet Foundation was founded by Prof. Odon Vallet (Sorbone University, France). It is the largest and longest running scholarship fund in Vietnam nowadays. After 19 years of operation since 2001, the fund has awarded more than 35,000 scholarships to students, college students and young researchers. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the Foundation has awarded 2,200 scholarships worth up to 27 billion VND.
