On the afternoon of November 24, 2021, the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VINIF) held a ceremony to announce the awarding of master’s and doctoral scholarships in Vietnam in 2021 via an online platform.
The event was attended by delegates: Assoc. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Director of Higher Education Department – Ministry of Education and Training, Prof. Nguyen Hai Nam – Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Prof. Vu Ha Van – Scientific Director of VinBigdata Research Institute, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong – CEO of VinIF Foundation, and excellent candidates won master’s and doctoral scholarships in Vietnam in 2021.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Director of the Higher Education Department – Ministry of Education and Training shared that although the VinIF has not been established for a long time, it promises to be an annual scholarship fund that creates opportunities for breakthrough and development of Vietnamese talented young scientists.
Next, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong – CEO of VinIF has reviewed two years of operation of scholarship programs initiated by Vingroup Innovation Foundation, including: Scholarships for Master and Doctoral Training; Postdoctoral Fellowships and Grants, a Master of Data Science Training Partnership.
The ceremony honored scientists who received scholarships for masters and doctors in Vietnam in 2021. As the third year of implementation, the program has attracted a record number of more than 600 excellent applications sent from all the country. After review and assessment, 300 typical candidates were selected. In which, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi USTH has had excellent candidates win scholarships from VinIF Foundation such as Hoang Van Nhat – Department of Information and Communication Technology, Duong Quang Hieu – Department of Life Science for Master’s Scholarship; Phan Ke Son – Former Master’s student majoring in Drug Development in 2020, PhD student Tran Buu Dang won a PhD scholarship. Previously, Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy and Dr. Mai Phuong Nga – Department of Life Sciences, USTH was honored to receive a postdoctoral fellowship from the VINIF Foundation.
