The Vietnam University Rankings 2026 (VNUR – Viet Nam’s University Rankings) have been officially released. According to the results, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) continues to be listed among the Top 10 leading universities in Vietnam, ranking 6th nationwide, up one place compared to 2025. This achievement underscores USTH’s stable and growing position among the country’s highest-quality higher education institutions.
In the VNUR 2026, 237 higher education institutions offering undergraduate programs or above were considered for evaluation. Among them, 193 institutions met the requirements for publicly available data and were therefore included in the official ranking.
Data for the ranking were collected from multiple independent and reliable sources, including annual reports, admissions prospectuses, international university rankings such as QS, THE, and ARWU; accreditation results from the Ministry of Education and Training; ranking systems such as QS Stars and UPM; scientific databases including Scopus and Web of Science; as well as data on patents, scientific journals, infrastructure, and digital libraries. Notably, VNUR does not rely on subjective surveys and does not accept self-reported data from universities, thereby ensuring a high level of objectivity and transparency in the ranking outcomes.

The evaluation process is based on a comprehensive framework comprising six criteria groups and eighteen indicators, with calibrated weightings to ensure balance and fairness. Among these, “Recognized Quality” carries the highest weight (30%), followed by Teaching (25%), Scientific Publications (20%), Science and Technology Missions and Patents (10%), Student Quality (10%), and Facilities and Infrastructure (5%).
This achievement marks a significant milestone in USTH’s development journey and further affirms the University’s rising stature within Vietnam’s higher education system. Being ranked among the Top 10 universities in Vietnam for the second consecutive year is not only a recognition of USTH’s quality in education and research, but also a shared source of pride for its entire community of staff, faculty members, and students.
The result clearly reflects USTH’s sustained efforts, strong sense of responsibility, and collective commitment to its mission of training high-quality human resources in science and technology for national development. USTH regards this recognition as both an encouragement and a responsibility to continue striving forward in the new phase of development—leveraging internal strengths, enhancing high-quality education and research in line with international standards, and nurturing generations of talented researchers and experts in science and technology.
Through these efforts, USTH aims to make meaningful contributions to Vietnam’s development in the new era, while meeting the expectations of both the Government of Vietnam and the Government of France for an excellent university.
