Do you know that a single human genome takes up hundreds of gigabytes of storage space, and it is estimated that by 2025, the need for capacity to store the genomic data will increase thousands of times?
With the aim of making Bioinformatics more accessible to everyone by practice, let’s join this workshop to discover what you can do with Genomics data, no matter how “Big” it is!
Participants are strongly recommended to have a good background in programming (Python/R) and statistics. But even if you are an enthusiastic participant without those backgrounds, you are welcome to join this interesting workshop and take part in Pack 1: Biostatistics for Dummies before enrolling for either Pack 2: Scikit-learn tools and transcriptomics analysis or Pack 3: Bioinformatics Algorithms.

- Cao Tran Bich Ngoc, Bachelor Gen 7 at USTH, Master student in Bioinformatics at the École Normale Supérieure Paris (ENS Paris); Author of a publication published in Nucleic Acids Research (IF: 11.5); research experience at Institut Pasteur, Paris, Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Toulouse (CRCT), Toulouse (France), National Yang-Ming University (Taiwan).
- Cyril Matthey-Doret, PhD Student of the PPU Program (International Doctoral Program) at the Institut Pasteur, Paris; Author of 4 publications, 1 software (Chromosight); Specialist in Computer vision and Pattern recognition; Master in Bioinformatics and worked as Bioinformatician at University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The workshop will be organized as virtual one-hour meetings at 19:00 from 24 to 30 August 2020.
Location: R.502 & 504 at USTH.
Registration deadlines: before 23:59, August 20, 2020.
Registration fee: 20 euros (~500.000 VND), pay at the first session at USTH.
