On October 2nd, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, the 7th Rencontres de Quy Nhon: International Biology Conference 2024 was jointly organized by the Rencontres du Vietnam Association, the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).
The conference brought together close to 150 participants, including scientists, students, master students, and doctoral students from 11 countries and territories worldwide.
The conference attracted the participation of many distinguished speakers who are renowned experts and scientists in biology. Among them were: Prof. Hui-Min David Wang from Chung Hsing National University, Taiwan; Prof. Thomas Ziegler from the Zoological Research Institute, University of Cologne, Germany; Prof. Takayuki Tohge from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan; Prof. Aung Htay Naing from Kyungpook National University, South Korea; and Dr. Thomas Kesteman from the University of Oxford, UK.
Prof. Tran Thanh Van, Director of ICISE, highlighted that the 2024 International Biology Conference offers a great opportunity for young researchers from universities and research institutions around the globe to present their research, learn from recent advancements in the field, and network with leading scientists. It is a learning experience and a platform for building connections and fostering collaborations that will help cultivate a dynamic and innovative scientific community for the future.
The conference provides young researchers with valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, share insights on research challenges, and connect with domestic and international funding agencies through presentations by invited speakers. These networking and collaboration opportunities are designed to offer a solid foundation for young scientists as they develop their careers and contribute to the progress of science in the future.

This year’s conference will honor young scientists for their exceptional presentations, recognize those who actively participate throughout the event, and highlight the achievements of outstanding female scientists.
Especially, the organizing committee plans to select 10-20 exceptional abstracts to recommend for publication in the Journal of Biotechnology (VAST 2).
