Functions
To advise and assist the Rectors in the development, management and implementation of foreign language training (English and French) of the University.
Tasks
1. Development, management and organization of the implementation of foreign language training
a) To plan and organize the implementation of foreign languages training activities according to the University general plan;
b) To take the main responsibility for academic matters in the English Proficiency Test for newly enrolled students;
c) To coordinate with the Department of Quality Assurance and Examination to assess the level of English profiency for newly recruited students;
d) To develop training programs for English and French; to build and perfect the contents of the modules; to organize the compilation of textbooks, build reference materials suitable to the contents of the subjects; to organize the compilation of detailed outlines of subjects managed by the Center;
e) To research for renewing the teaching methods; to build and implement methods of testing, evaluating the process, learning and performance results for students according to the University’s regulations;
f) To propose solutions to build and develop the teaching activities of the Center.
g) To coordinate with the related departments in carrying out measures to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and testing for English and French modules in the training program.
2. Human Resource Management.
a) To manage lecturers, employees and students following the foreign languages courses of the Centre;
b) To develop a staff development plan of the Centre; implement the professional training and fostering for the contingent of lecturers of the Centre;
c) To organize the performance evaluation of the Centre’s managers, lecturers and staff;
d) To build up the network of domestic and foreign visiting lecturers for the Centre;
e) To draft and submit the visiting lecturer contracts, monitor and check the timesheet for visiting lecturers.
3. To manage the equipment, facilities, and documents for training under the jurisdiction of the Centre.
4. To organize the after school classes of the Centre for the students in and outside the University.
5. To perform other duties as assigned by the Rectors.
