Functions
To advise and assist the Rectors in the management and support academic departments in opening majors/programs, developing and effectively implementing training programs at all levels; managing the training process at undergraduate – master’s – doctoral levels, organizing committees for reviewing grade-passing, graduation.
Tasks
1. Training management
a) To take charge of the drafting of regulations and rules on training of USTH;
b) To guide, disseminate, support and supervise the implementation of training programs to ensure academic departments properly follows the training regulations and rules; ensure that the training implementation process operates effectively, on schedule and in compliance with legal regulations;
c) To manage the opening of new training majors/programs; develop training programs at undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels;
d) To take charge of developing and managing training implementation plans, developing learning materials and innovating teaching and learning methods. Synthesize and manage information on training programs;
e) To take charge of organizing and managing the compilation, selection, assesment, approval and use of textbooks and teaching materials;
f) To manage learning results of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students; issue transcripts and copies of transcripts to undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students;
g) To manage lecturer invitation files of academic departments teaching contracts, group project guidance, thesis and graduation thesis guidance;
h) To manage internship records of undergraduate and master’s students;
k)To take charge of the juries for reviewing grade-passing, graduation, changing majors/programs, recognizing learning outcomes and credit transfers for undergraduate and master’s students and organize the thesis defense juries for doctoral students.
l)To take charge of the implementation of the database to check thesis and dissertation for students.
m)To be focal point for reviewing, synthesizing and submitting to the Rector Board for approval the proposed annual list of supplies and chemicals used in training programs of academic departments.
n)To manage doctoral training program.
o)To coordinate with other departments to perform related duties.
2. To implement digital transformation in training management.
3. To manage academic advising activities.
To be focal point for developing regulations on academic advising work and proposing an annual academic advising list; monitoring the implementation of academic advising work to report and advise the Rector Board on related issues.
4. To perform statistical work, reports, and comments on training activities related documents, drafts according to assigned functions.
5. To perform other tasks assigned by the Rectors.
