Summer English program is intended for students who have passed the 3-year Bachelor’s Program through USTH’s entrance interviews and have their English proficiency close to the English entry level required for the 3-year Bachelor’s Program (USTH’s English entry level is regulated to be equivalent to IELTS 5.0). The program is organized after students have completed the enrollment process and prior to the start of the first academic year in the Bachelor’s Program.
With the accelerated learning intensity, the Summer English program strengthens and improves English proficiency to help students have a solid foundation for studying science subjects. The program is designed with the appropriate length according to the requirements of the 3-year Bachelor Program.
This course will help improve students’ English skills to familiarize themselves with the international university environment.
After finishing the course, students will officially follow the 3-year Bachelor’s Program at USTH.
Students’ English entry level for the Summer English program are assessed through an admission interview and an English proficiency test.

Summer English program prepares the language foundation for studying content subjects in English in the Bachelor’s Program. This is a conditional program, its academic results are not counted toward graduation.

(*) IELTS and TOEFL IBT are accepted at USTH; please see the equivalent English conversion table here. In case of using other English testing systems such as Pearson or Cambridge, the students’ application will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All of the certificates are valid within 2 years and 3 months of the original test date.
