On April 8th, 2022, a cooperation agreement between Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (IIAP) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) was officially signed. The signing ceremony was held online.
Participating in the ceremony, on the side of IIAP, was Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan, Director, Dr. Vladimir Sahakyan, Deputy Director, Dr. Hasmik Sahakyan, Scientific Secretary, on the side of USTH, was Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, Principal Rector, Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang, Vice Rector, Dr. Tran Giang Son, Deputy Director of Information and Communication Technology Department and other managers and representatives of relevant departments of two sides.
Beginning the signing ceremony, there were presentations in order to introduce USTH and IIAP, their vision, mission, core values, history, training programs, publishing and collaboration. USTH is a Vietnamese public university with the mission to provide high quality human resources in Science and Technology, and to become an excellent research-oriented university in Vietnam. The university is strongly supported by the French Government through a Consortium of more than 30 universities and research institutions in France. As USTH aims at becoming an international university, it is essential for USTH to build up strong relationships with national and international universities, institutions and business in Vietnam and worldwide. IIAP is a research institute with the mission to provide fundamental knowledge and expertise in computer science and technology, to prepare highly-qualified scientists and engineers in relevant fields, to develop the e-infrastructure and services, and to become a leading player in the region in the ICT sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest expressed his delight at the new step in the partnership between USTH and IIAP, as well as his belief in the success of the collaboration.
On behalf of IIAP, Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan emphasized that the signing of the cooperation agreement will become an important foundation to foster and train more talented students, contributing to the development of the economy and society in general and the field of science – technology of each country in particular in the future.
Both USTH and IIAP are desirable to establish academic partnership and cooperation on Exchange of lecturers and researchers; Exchange of students (undergraduate and/or graduate); Traineeships and student visits; Exchange of academic information and materials; Organization of joint degree programs; Organization of joint research programs; Organization of joint conferences; Organization of other academic exchanges agreeable to both universities.
At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest and Dr. Hrachya Astsatryan signed Memorandum of Understanding between IIAP and USTH, opening up opportunities for study and academic exchange for young people who are passionate about Information and Communication Technology as well as the desire to experience and develop themselves in an international environment, thereby accessing job opportunities on an international scale.
