The Foreign Languages Center (FLC) – University of Science and Technology of Hanoi offers after-hours French language courses with levels A0, A1, A2 & B1 for USTH’s students, lecturers, staff of Vietnam Academy of Science &Technology (VAST) and for anyone interested in French language.
1. Course objectives
Class A0 (learners with no previous knowledge of French):
- Learning basic French language (French for beginners)
- Learning French pronunciation and basic French conversation
- Learning and discovering French culture
Class A1 (for learners who have completed the level A0)
- Reviewing the system of knowledge attained and continuing to provide important language knowledge.
- Correcting basic pronunciation mistakes, boosting grammar and vocabulary with topics at level A1.
- This general French class will help learners improve skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing; it is also an ideal foundation for learners to prepare for the DELF A1 exam.
Class A2 (for learners who have completed the level A1): sharpens 4 skills: Compréhension orale (Listening comprehension), Compréhension écrite (Reading comprehension), Production orale (Speaking) and Production écrite (Writing)
- Knowledge about DELF A2 exam format
- Common topics appearing in the annual DELF A2 exams
- Analysis on different types of questions, frequently-asked questions and advice on how to answer those questions
- Practicing different DELF topics in niveau A2 (updated teaching materials and textbook)
- Tips and tricks to achieve high score in exams
- Advantages of having French language proficiency help USTH students:
- Be able to communicate confidently with French experts and visiting lecturers at USTH
- Have better internship opportunities, academic exchanges and get better chances of gaining scholarship from French universities and research institutes
- Learn more about French culture, French people and the charming beauty of this country
Class B1 (for learners who have completed the level A2): sharpens 4 skills: Compréhension orale (Listening comprehension), Compréhension écrite (Reading comprehension), Production orale (Speaking) and Production écrite (Writing)

- Common topics appearing in the annual DELF B1 exams
- Analysis on different types of questions, frequently-asked questions and advice on how to answer those questions
- Practicing different DELF topics in niveau B1 (updated teaching materials and textbook)

- Learning to respond in conversation and improving listening and speaking skills
